LGS REPORT GUIDE
Learn the grading terms, report language, and condition details used throughout LGS evaluations and DGR Reports.

AUTHENTICATION REVIEW
The process of reviewing a collectible to confirm that it appears genuine and eligible for LGS certification.
ALTERED CARD
A card that appears to have been intentionally modified, including trimming, recoloring, restoration, or other non-factory changes.
C
CENTERING
The measurement of how evenly the printed image is positioned within the card borders.
CORNERS
The condition of the four card corners, including sharpness, whitening, bends, rounding, fraying, or impact damage.
CREASE
A visible bend or fold in the card stock. Creases usually have a major impact on the final grade.
D
DGR REPORT
The LGS Detailed Grading Report. It may include the final grade, Precision Score, digital subgrades, notes, imaging, and QR verification.
DENT
A small depression or indentation in the card surface, often visible under angled light.
E
EDGES
The condition of the card’s outer edges, including whitening, chipping, rough cuts, peeling, or wear.
ENCAPSULATION
The process of sealing a certified collectible inside an LGS holder for protection and display.
G
GRADE CAP
A maximum possible grade caused by a significant defect, even if the rest of the card is strong.
P
PRECISION SCORE
The LGS numerical condition score out of 100. This gives collectors a more detailed view beyond the label grade.
PRINT LINE
A factory-created line visible on the card surface, often seen on holofoil or glossy areas.
Q
QR VERIFICATION
A scannable code that allows collectors to access the card’s digital certification or DGR Report.
S
SURFACE
The front and back condition of the card, including scratches, dents, stains, print lines, impressions, and other visible issues.
SUBGRADES
The category-level condition scores for centering, corners, surface, and edges. LGS shows these digitally through the DGR Report.
W
WHITENING
Visible white wear along edges or corners where the card stock is exposed.
